UVA Health week is coming! This is a very special week that is shared with National Nurses Week (May 6-12), giving us many reasons to celebrate. During the week of May 8-14, we’re planning events to recognize all team members in many varied roles who provide care and service to our patients and community and celebrate who we are as one UVA Health team.
This will be a week for appreciating, reflecting, celebrating, and respecting all that we do to care for patients. From nutrition services to care teams and clinical support services to facilities, it takes all of us to keep patients at the center of all we do. Thank you to our team members that work tirelessly — day in and day out — to deliver on our mission. Through your dedication and resiliency, you have cared for one another and our patients, with a tenacity and resolve and this truly humbles me. I see you, I am so very thankful for you, and I look forward to celebrating together.
As we approach UVA Health week and take time to celebrate our amazing teams, I’m curious: What three things make you feel most valued and respected in your work? Maybe it’s feeling heard amongst your team and being acknowledged for your successes and contributions, or maybe it’s being given opportunities for growth in your field. However it is that you feel valued and respected, I’d love for you to share those with me. If you scroll to the bottom of my blog’s homepage, you’ll find the BeHeard Suggestion Box. I invite you to use it to share your three things to generate ideas on what it means to feel truly valued and respected when you come to work at UVA Medical Center. After all, you are the reason we transform health and inspire hope for all Virginians and beyond.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Take care and be well,
Wendy
