I could hardly wait to share my thoughts and photos from last week's UVA Health Service Awards Dinner with all of you! What an extraordinary evening it was, as we came together to honor the remarkable individuals who have dedicated 25 to 55 years of their careers to UVA Health. With approximately 230 honorees in attendance, the room was filled with a sense of camaraderie, accomplishment and shared purpose.
Please take some time this week to help us express our heartfelt appreciation for this incredible group of team members within your own teams and departments. I also want to take a moment to recognize those who couldn’t attend the event but are also celebrating a “years of service” anniversary with us! The impact these individuals have made throughout their careers is immeasurable, and the collective 7,401 years of service they represent is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Meeting and reconnecting with many of our team members at the event was a true highlight. Their stories, experiences and dedication continue to motivate and remind us of the profound impact we have on the lives of our patients and our community. I had the privilege of capturing some special moments from the evening, and I'm excited to share these photos with all of you.
This year, we celebrated two remarkable individuals, Lillie Dunbar, phlebotomist, and Ed Pugh, perfusionist, who have been with UVA Health for an astounding 55 years! Their journey reflects the incredible growth and transformation our organization has undergone across generations, and they are a cornerstone of our legacy.
This event gave us a moment to pause and reflect on the team members who have brought us to where we are today. With their expertise lighting the way, I am confident that we will continue to forge ahead, to achieve our mission of transforming health and inspiring hope for all Virginians and beyond. Thank you for your exceptional service, and here's to many more years of collaboration and impact!
