Happy National Women’s History Month! As we enter March, let's take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who have shaped our organization and continue to inspire positive change.
This year's national theme, "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion," aligns with our commitment to fostering a workplace that values every voice. This is an integral part of our larger mission of transforming patient care, research, education, and engagement with the diverse communities we serve.
Throughout March, UVA Health has a series of special features and events lined up to shine a spotlight on the history, life experiences, and contributions of women at UVA Health, both past and present. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to reflect on the inspiring women who contribute to our success and to consider how we can carry their vision forward toward a more equitable future.
As part of our celebration, I wanted to give our team members at the University Medical Center a platform to highlight the unsung heroes among us. In the spirit of the theme of International Women’s Day on March 8, #InspireInclusion, I’m inviting each of you to submit your nominations for women who inspire inclusion every day at the medical center.
I’ll accept nominations throughout the month and will share a blog featuring your picks!
Please use the form provided to share your nominations, including the nominee's name and title, along with a brief note about why this individual inspires you. Feel free to include photos if you have them!
Let's come together to make this Women's History Month a celebration of the incredible women who shape our organization and pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.
Take care and be well,
Wendy
