Our ASPIRE values - accountability, stewardship, professionalism, integrity, respect, and equity - are the guiding principles at the heart of UVA Health's mission and vision. These values shape our culture, fostering an environment of excellence, engagement, and trust in every interaction with our patients and each other.
Last year, the "Let's Have A Conversation" event on February 14 allowed us to connect and discuss how our values inspire our efforts in caring for each other and our community. The success of that event inspired us to turn it into an annual Valentine's Day tradition, and ASPIRE Day was born!

On Wednesday, February 14, our UVA Health leaders will be at various locations throughout the health system, ready to engage in conversation, give out candy, and share a few other fun surprises. This is a special opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to our ASPIRE values and also contribute your ideas on how we can continue to achieve UVA Health's strategic vision.
You can find ASPIRE Day stations at the following locations:
- University Medical Center, cafeteria breezeway
- West Complex, cafeteria
- Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, first floor
- Battle Building, third floor
- Orthopedic Center Ivy Road, cafeteria
Additionally, ASPIRE Day kits will be sent to remote clinic locations so that team members across UVA Health can join in the celebration.
Your unwavering commitment, excellence, and great ideas are instrumental in making UVA Health the best place to work for everyone. Thank you for living out our values each day, and I can’t wait to “give our values some love” with you!
I hope you’ll be able to join us for ASPIRE Day 2024, but if you can't make it, you can always share your thoughts with me through the Be Heard Suggestion Box.
Take care and be well,
Wendy
