Your Input Will Guide Us Forward

The best way to know how we’re doing as an organization is to ask you — our team — directly. Each day you’re serving our thousands of patients with extraordinary skill and collaboration. Your experiences working at UVA Health offer valuable ideas and insight into how we're caring for you as a team member and help guide our future together.

That’s why the upcoming 2022 UVA Health Engagement Survey is so important for us all. It's an important tool that helps us see where we are as a team, hear how people are feeling, validate what we are doing well, and identify where we have opportunities for improvement. By tapping into the local and organizational perspectives we will establish an essential baseline that will help us measure our progress as teams and as an organization making us better in all we do. After all, it’s our vision to be the nation’s leading academic medical center and best place to work!

This fall, we’ll be asking everyone across UVA Health to participate in a system-wide engagement survey, but before then, I wanted to share three quick reasons I’m excited for the survey and why your participation will be so important.

Your responses will inform how we’re going to help our people become the best they can be. We’re hoping to get an accurate, current picture of the work environment at UVA Health. With over 16,000 team members in hundreds of different roles, it’s challenging to understand the inner workings of each team’s culture. With your survey feedback, we’ll look forward to better understanding your experiences and designing new ways to support you.

We’ll have an opportunity to assess our work culture. Are we building an inclusive culture where you feel a sense of belonging and where you can learn, grow and be your professional best? This may look different person-to-person, so we need each team member’s perspective on how to strengthen the relationship between team members, management, and the organization to create a sense of belonging and support our collective success.

You will guide what we prioritize as a health system and where we focus our efforts. We want to take UVA Health in a direction that is vibrant, fosters resilience, and allows us to achieve excellence in our delivery of the safest, highest-quality care and service. To do this, we’re interested in hearing the shining moments of your UVA Health experience as well as your ideas for improvement. You can use the survey to share your victories, thoughts on new ideas, innovations, or where you see opportunities for growth.
