Every month, at the Medical Center Management Group (MCMG) meeting, a leader is asked to deliver the closing reflections, meant to inspire and provoke thought. Last week, I had the opportunity to deliver this address, where I recounted a story that I believe speaks to us all as caregivers — the story of the Choluteca Bridge, a suspension bridge located in the city of Choluteca, Honduras.
The Choluteca Bridge's story resonated deeply with me, reflecting our pursuit of excellence at UVA Health. Our resilience and adaptability have brought us so far as an organization, and I am confident in our road ahead at UVA Health, no matter what challenges may arise. For the full story about the Choluteca Bridge and why it hits home, I encourage you to take a few minutes and watch the video! Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
Take care and be well,
